Babies, That's how They Get You.
"I'm pregnant!"
'"I'm going to throw up."
"I just threw up."
"Hey babe, I made dinner."
"Thank you sweetheart but if I eat that I'll throw up."
"Oh, my belly button is inside out."
"Congratulations on your pregnancy now undress from the waste down and hook your heels into these stirrups."
"ugh..."
"Just some heart burn"
"Oh, that heart burn is not so fun"
"I SWALLOWED FIRE!"
"Oh gosh, baby can now kick me in the bladder."
"No Xander I can't hold you I'm holding baby brother"
"Hey Xander, will you hand me that thing I just dropped"
"No Xander I can't hold you I'm holding baby brother"
"Hey Xander, will you hand me that thing I just dropped"...
"Just a minute I have to go pee"
"Can I use your bathroom?"
"Excuse me, can you tell me where the restroom is?"
"Your out of TP"
"I would like pizza, chicken fingers, spaghetti, ice cream, 2 cinnamon rolls and hey, I'm not done ordering."
"Yes, I have to pee AGAIN!"
"None of my clothes fit"
"My back hurts"
"No I can't do any of those super fun things I love, I'm pregnant"
"I can either not pee or sneeze, not both"
"They say it's Sciatic nerve pain but it feels like or baby is trying to claw his way."
"oh, stretchmarks"
"So you must be due any day now" "No 8 more weeks still."
"Please tell me when I'v spilled food on the underside of my belly."
"I can't sleep."
"My feet hurt"
"No, I don't know why I'm crying!"
"XANDER!"
"I hate being pregnant!"
"Nothing is important enough to bend down to pick up."
2am -"Calf cramp! Calf cramp!"
"How can they be called maternity clothes when 4 inches of my belly hangs out!"
"My everything hurts"
"I'm NEVER doing this again!"
"Ow"
"Here, don't eat for hours then drink this nasty orange stuff, then still don't eat, then let us stab you a bunch of times."
"Are you okay babe?""Back off!"
"Oh I'm just sitting in the waiting room STILL!"
"Only a few more months and I'll be done forever."
"I'm sorry, I couldn't get that one either. Let me try to get a vain on this side again"
"How painful would you say your contractions are?" "AAAHHHH!!!"
"Oh, that wasn't so bad."

Give said the little stream...but not to them!
'Tis the season of giving! Or so I thought. A common theme I have heard this holiday season is something along the lines of 'We should only help people in this country.' Now it's not usually stated so bluntly but that's exactly what "I don't know why people donate to organizations that just send the money over seas." or "Why volunteer with them they just use send stuff to other countries." Or "We should just help people here."
Now, I'm all for helping those around us, but last I checked a person is a person no matter where they are. By the grace of God or dumb luck, what ever you want to call it, I was born to one of few very fortunate areas. I've never gone hungry or watched a love one die because we couldn't afford medicine. So being one of the very few who have been blessed to be able to help others, why would I discriminate against those who weren't. I'm pretty sure the children born into refuge camps in the middle of the barren desert didn't do much to deserve that. I think there is a mentality to help our own first, or help our own first then others. I am a person so all people are my own. Also, there will ALWAYS be needs right here in the USA or right here in Utah or even right here in Cedar Hills. So if you are waiting for the needs to be filled here before branching out there is going to be a lot of waiting.
So you can judge me for, maybe, collecting donations to help bring a well to an impoverished area in Ethiopia so that hundreds of men, women and children, no longer have to fear the diseases that come from drinking from the polluted stream, but I'm going to sleep pretty well knowing I helped a child of God.Saturday, September 1, 2012

Happy World Down Syndrome Day
When a mother hears that her unborn baby has down syndrome it is scary. As great as it would be for every mother to jump for joy at this diagnosis, that's not reality. It is scary. 90% of the time fear wins out and those babies are never born. 10% of the time, love wins and a mother is blessed beyond comprehension (as all mothers of all babies are). My hope is that people will see and realize that down syndrome is okay, and that fear will not win so often. This is what parents said they "would go back and tell themselves".

Happy Transformations
So I've been some what obsessed with the web site Reese's Rainbow lately. I've read about what happens to most of these children once they reach the age of 4 (or 6 depending on where they live). They are sent from orphanages to institutions. Now, I didn't really know what they meant by institutions. It didn't sound so bad until i saw pictures like this.
Children become shells of their former selves in months. There are more here.
HOWEVER, there are many happy endings. These children were adopted and now have loving families. These are the happy transformations.

We have arrived...
After all these years we have lived with a tiny bed. There. I said it. We were tiny bed people. However, we are finally adults. Not just adults, we are KINGS!! And it is wonderful! We can sleep like starfish. It's amazing.
